Long before the wedding bells and reality TV fame, their connection sparked from a chance encounter that would lay the groundwork for a 25-year romance.
During her recent appearance on “Rickey Smiley on the Spot,” Tiny recounted the early days of their relationship, offering fans a deeper glimpse into how a simple mall visit transformed into a lifelong bond. The initial meeting took place at Jazze Pha’s Noontime Studios in Atlanta, where a young T.I. was eager to make an impression. However, Tiny admitted she wasn’t interested at the time, recalling, “I blew him off or whatever. He was so young at the time.”
Fast forward nearly a year, and fate intervened once more. While shopping at the mall with her then-four-year-old daughter Zonnique, Tiny spotted T.I. again, this time dressed in a Polo outfit that 𝒄𝒂𝓊𝓰𝒉𝓉 her eye. “I noticed that he looked damn good,” she reminisced. Their brief exchange led Tiny into Victoria’s Secret, with T.I. following closely behind. It was there that they exchanged phone numbers, a moment that would change both their lives forever.
T.I. has shared his side of the story as well, revealing on Hot 97 that he had been smitten with Tiny after seeing her in XSCAPE’s music video for “Just Kickin’ It.” He humorously noted that he had been plotting to meet her long before their encounter at the mall.
Their first date was refreshingly low-key, featuring a $3 café, chicken wings, and a parked car, with little Zonnique tagging along. Tiny fondly recalled the months of phone conversations that followed, and it was during a performance at Atlanta’s Bankhead venue Bounce that she recognized T.I.’s potential. “I said, ‘Okay, he’s got potential.
