Jay-Z’s true story will keep you on the edge of your seat! 🔥
In 1996, Shawn Carter (Jay-Z) was 26 years old.

He took his demos all over New York, knocking on the doors of every major label.

The result?

Jay-Z, 'Reasonable Doubt' (1996) - Rolling Stone Australia

A series of companies flatly rejected him:

“Your rap won’t sell.”

“You don’t have a star image.”

“The hip-hop market is already overcrowded.”

No one believed him. No one gave him a chance.

But Jay-Z didn’t wait.

With two friends, he used $8,000 (savings from his time selling goods on the street) to found Roc-A-Fella Records. They recorded themselves in a damp basement.

Without advertising money, Jay-Z drove his old car, selling the album Reasonable Doubt from the trunk in Brooklyn, Queens, and New Jersey. He stood in the middle of the street, holding up CDs and persuading passersby to buy a copy.

Today, Reasonable Doubt is considered one of the greatest albums in hip-hop history.

What's Happening With Dame Dash's Shares of Roc-A-Fella?

From the trunk of his car → billionaire.

From being rejected → building the Roc Nation empire, Tidal, becoming the richest rapper in the world.

Jay-Z once said:

“They wouldn’t sign for me, so I signed for myself.”

The lesson for you:

When the whole world says “No” to you,

don’t sit there waiting for someone to change their mind.

Create your own opportunities.

Are you being rejected?

Are you being told you “are not good enough”?

Are you thinking of giving up?
