Gucci Mane Labeled a Snitch by Rappers After Pooh Shiesty Arrest – The Full Story

Gucci Mane is facing heavy backlash from parts of the hip-hop community after federal charges were filed against Pooh Shiesty and eight others in connection with the alleged armed robbery and kidnapping at a Dallas recording studio.
According to the FBI affidavit, on January 10, 2026, Pooh Shiesty (Lontrell Williams Jr.) and his associates allegedly lured Gucci Mane to a studio under the pretense of discussing contract terms, then carried out a coordinated armed takeover. Gucci Mane and two others were reportedly held at gunpoint, robbed of jewelry and cash, and forced to sign release papers.

Pooh Shiesty, his father Lontrell Williams Sr., Big 30 (Rodney Wright Jr.), and several others have been arrested on federal kidnapping and conspiracy charges. The incident was heavily documented with surveillance footage, fingerprints, and other evidence from the studio.

Despite being the victim, Gucci Mane is now being widely called a “snitch” online and even by some incarcerated rappers. Many are questioning why he cooperated with authorities instead of handling it in the streets.
The drama has divided the rap world, with some defending Gucci as a victim of a setup while others criticize him for involving law enforcement. Gucci later responded with the diss track “Crash Dummy,” further escalating the situation.
