Despite their highly publicized fallout, Rick Ross proved that business and personal relationships are not always the same thing.

During the opening night of his “Port of Miami” 20th Anniversary Tour in Miami, the veteran rapper surprised some fans by performing several of his biggest collaborations with Drake. The move immediately sparked speculation that the former collaborators could be moving toward reconciliation after years of tension. However, Ross quickly shut down those rumors.
The Music Remains, But The Friendship Doesn’t

Ross and Drake were once one of hip-hop’s most successful duos, delivering major records such as “Aston Martin Music,” “Stay Schemin’,” “Money in the Grave,” and “Lemon Pepper Freestyle.” Their collaborations helped define an era of rap and generated millions of streams worldwide.
Yet when asked after the show whether he would consider repairing his relationship with Drake, Ross reportedly laughed off the suggestion, making it clear that a reunion is not currently on his agenda. According to reports, Ross sees no reason to remove Drake’s verses from songs during performances, but that does not mean their personal issues have been resolved.
How The Feud Started

The relationship between the two artists deteriorated during the explosive rap wars of 2024, when Ross publicly aligned himself with Kendrick Lamar amid Lamar’s highly publicized battle against Drake.
Ross later released diss records targeting Drake and accused him of relying on ghostwriters, while Drake responded with lyrical shots of his own. Since then, the two former collaborators have maintained a noticeably distant relationship.
Although Ross recently downplayed the severity of the conflict by saying there was “nothing” going on between them, he also acknowledged that competition is part of hip-hop culture and suggested that his upcoming music would continue generating conversations.
Fans Hope For A Reunion

Many fans remain hopeful that Ross and Drake will eventually reconnect. After all, both artists built a significant part of their catalog together, and their chemistry produced some of the most memorable records of the 2010s.
However, Ross’s latest comments suggest that while he is comfortable celebrating the music they created, he has little interest in rebuilding the friendship behind it.
A Business Decision, Not A Peace Treaty
For Ross, performing Drake collaborations appears to be a practical decision rather than an emotional one. The songs remain fan favorites, and removing them from the setlist would mean ignoring a major chapter of his career.
That distinction may be the biggest takeaway from the tour opener: Rick Ross is willing to celebrate the hits, but he is not ready to bury the feud.
At least for now, the music lives on — the friendship does not.
