Toddler’s Birthday Ear Piercing Nightmare: One Earring Swallowed, the Other Stuck Deep in Her Nose!

4-Year-Old Gets Ears Pierced: 1 Earring Ends Up In Her Stomach, The Other Up Her Nose

In a story that has parents everywhere rethinking early piercings, four-year-old Amiah Hankins turned what should have been a sweet birthday memory into a frantic medical adventure after her shiny new earrings went missing in the most unexpected places.

Little Amiah was thrilled to get her ears pierced as a special fourth birthday treat. A few weeks later, the adorable toddler dropped a bombshell on her mom: “Mommy, I ate my earring.” She had actually swallowed one the night before and slept with it in her belly — something her mother never imagined could happen so quickly.

But the drama didn’t stop there. When mom asked about the matching earring, Amiah casually replied, “I put it in my nose.” And it was way up there. An X-ray at the hospital confirmed the tiny stud lodged deep in her nasal passage, while the swallowed one was already making its way through her digestive system.

Her pediatrician lacked the proper tools to remove the nasal earring, so mom rushed her to the hospital. Doctors successfully extracted it using special forceps, and thankfully, the swallowed earring passed naturally without complications. Amiah stayed calm throughout, but her mom admitted it was a scary moment as she tried to keep her cool for her daughter.

Now, mom has a firm new rule: no more earrings until Amiah is married — “This can be her husband’s problem!” she joked.

This wild tale serves as a humorous yet serious reminder about the curiosity of toddlers and the importance of close supervision with small objects and new piercings.
