Ne Zha 2 (2025) is the thrilling sequel to the hit Chinese animated film Ne Zha (2019), continuing its epic blend of mythology and fantasy action. Directed by Jiaozi, the original film broke numerous box office records, becoming the highest-grossing animated film of all time with over $2 billion in global revenue.
After the fateful battle in the first film, the souls of Ne Zha and Ao Bing are saved, but their physical bodies are destroyed. To prevent their spirits from vanishing, Master Taiyi Zhenren sacrifices the Sacred Seven-Lotus to recreate their bodies, though the new forms are still weak. Believing his son Ao Bing to be dead, Ao Guang, the Dragon King of the East Sea, commands Shen Gongbao to attack Chentang Pass, sparking a fierce conflict between celestial beings and dragon clans.
To avoid war, a pact is made: Ne Zha and Ao Bing must share one body for seven days and pass three divine trials to earn their immortal titles and obtain the elixir that can restore the Sacred Seven-Lotus—essential for fully reviving Ao Bing. As they face these brutal tests, they uncover a dark conspiracy led by the Chan Sect and its master Wuliang, who orchestrated the destruction of Chentang Pass.
