Donna Forbids Katie to Hire Hope — and Brooke Works Her Powers of Persuasion on Ridge

At Brooke’s place, she urges Ridge to think about them running the company together as a power couple. “Tell me you want that too,” she purrs. Over at the cliff house, Finn is, of course, shirtless, and making out with Steffy. The kids, naturally, are on sleepovers. Steffy alludes to having had a rough day. At Forrester, Liam was hoping that his wife had her boxes packed to go to Logan. At Logan, Donna informs Katie that Hope will be staying at Forrester with Brooke where she belongs.

At the cliff house, Steffy explains to Finn that Hope can’t understand why her line is being delayed and keeps accusing her of making it personal. Sometimes, she wonders if Hope and her line are even worth the trouble.

Finn pours wine and tells Steffy she needs to remind Hope who’s boss. Steffy decides she doesn’t want to discuss Hope anymore (we’ll see how long that lasts) and they start making out.

At Logan, Katie assures Donna this wasn’t her idea, but Liam’s. He’s seen how she’s been sidelined at Forrester. Donna scoffs at the idea that Hope’s been bowing down to Steffy. Regardless of Liam’s motivations, it’s a crazy idea that cannot happen.

Having decided to become as exasperating as everyone else, Donna asks Katie if she’s trying to get revenge on Brooke for stealing Bill all those years ago. Katie, outraged, insists she’s not using Hope and is doing what’s best for the company. Donna protests that family is more important. “You can’t do this to Brooke!”

Donna and Katie squabble at length, circling back to argue about Eric. Katie says he came to them because he wasn’t appreciated, and Hope feels the same. This is because of Ridge and Steffy.

At Forrester, Hope tells Liam she doesn’t plan to leave Forrester. He’s disappointed and a little surprised. Hope explains she convinced her mom to speak with Ridge and make the case to become co-CEO.

Liam responds with the understatement of the year, saying Steffy won’t be too happy about being replaced by Brooke. Is Ridge in Brooke’s corner on this?! Hope shrugs that Steffy can get another title and runs down her mother’s “contributions” again. Her line can’t thrive again if she leaves, but if her mom is co-CEO, she won’t have to. There it is, folks.

Awkward

At Brooke’s place, Ridge concedes that they would make a great team, but what about his daughter? What about Steffy? Brooke, incredibly, says she doesn’t want to put him in an awkward position. Refreshingly, he points out she’s doing just that.

Ridge tries to get his mind around the idea of telling Steffy she’d be reporting to him and Brooke. The blonde keeps making her pitch. She’s earned this, and deep down, she knows he believes that too. He squints at her.

Asking Brooke to sit, Ridge wonders if she’s giving him some kind of ultimatum. Brooke complains about the stress of Katie going out on her own. She wants to compete with her as the “king and queen” of Forrester Creations… sounds mature.

The Final Scenes

At the cliff house, the make-out sesh continues. The pause briefly for her to tell him she completed a big deal at work, and then pick up where they left off.

At Logan, Donna’s still freaking out. Hiring Hope is a hard no! Brooke would go crazy, and it would rip the three of them apart! No company is worth that.

At Forrester, Liam asks Hope what will happen if Brooke fails to convince Ridge. She’ll have no reason to stay there and should come to Logan. Hope assures him that her mom has a way of getting what she wants… especially when it comes to Ridge.

At Brooke’s place, she cozies up to her hubster in her lingerie and purrs about how the internet would light up if they announced their partnership. All he has to do is tell Steffy and the entire world that she will be his co-CEO. She then kisses him and gazes intently into his eyes as though trying to put him in a trance.
