Y&R Spoilers: Carter Is The Inevitable Villain – Cane’s Plan Unraveling
The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Carter’s (no last name known for the character Vincent Stalba portrays) emergence as the villain makes sense. Stalba’s side character will be the easiest to tag with Damian Kane’s (Jermaine Rivers) murder and then write off to jail.
Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) arrival at Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) beautifully strange and secluded villa in the south of France sets the stage for all that unfolds. Cane anticipated someone attempting to kill him. But his hunch didn’t include Carter’s misguided loyalty going far off the soapy course.
It appears that Cane’s right-hand man wanted to eliminate Damian so a path would be open to Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). Carter seemingly concluded that taking Damian out would enable Cane’s ability to reconcile with the love of his life.
Phyllis Summers Wasn’t Supposed To Be There
Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) was talking out loud to herself. That dialogue was intended as a foreshadowing, allowing the audience to be tipped off.
She said that the maze felt different on that fateful night. Phyllis’ instincts were proven right as she happened upon Chance holding the suddenly dead Damian in his arms, with the antique dagger sticking out of his back.
Carter likely didn’t know Phyllis would be in the vicinity when he threw one of Cane’s exotic possessions at a distance toward Damian. But there she was, moments later, a witness to the crime.
Cane Ashby Underestimated His Employees
The goon Cane employs to maintain security endangered Nick Newman’s (Joshua Morrow) life. The potentially mortal wound in Nick’s abdomen wasn’t supposed to happen. Of course, Cane and Carter didn’t plan for Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) to pick the lock.
That’s just another aspect of Cane’s master plan that has gone awry, as his revelation to Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) about using Nick and Sharon’s captive state as leverage to forcibly obtain Chancellor was eviscerated.
Flynn’s character is reliant upon an unstable fixer who is improvising in an amateurish fashion. In addition to Carter, Cane finds himself in legal jeopardy in a scenario that’s gone well beyond his control.
The Butler Did It In The South Of France
If this speculation proves true, Carter will soon be fully unmasked as Damian’s killer. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Chance are already witnesses to Carter’s unforced admission of planting the bloody knife under the sink in Nick’s train car.
Although Carter might not be unmasked. This character, who is, in effect, playing the butler, could simply fall under the increasing pressure and offer a full admission as a final act of protecting the man he credits with saving his life.
In any event, fans are clamoring for this extended summer tale to wrap. The character’s agitation is felt on the other side of the screen, as intended, with Carter being the most likely answer to this storyline’s mystery and everyone’s ticket back to Genoa City, Wisconsin.
