‘Coward’ Gilgo Beach Killer Blasted at Sentencing as Victims’ Families Confront Him
Riverhead, New York — Rex Heuermann, the Gilgo Beach serial killer, was sentenced to life in prison without parole in a dramatic courtroom hearing. Victims’ families blasted him as a “coward” as they confronted him for the first time.
Heuermann, who previously pleaded guilty to murdering eight women, briefly addressed the court but offered little remorse. The judge called him a coward before ordering him removed. The hearing brought some closure to families who waited decades for justice.

The case, one of the most notorious in Long Island history, spanned nearly three decades. Heuermann lived a double life as an architect while allegedly committing the killings.

This sentencing marks the end of a long nightmare for the victims’ loved ones.
