One Piece Chapter 1124: A Mysterious Character Awaits In Elbaf

One Piece chapter 1124 dropped earlier today officially, and just before break week, Oda has officially marked the beginning of the Elbaf arc. This week’s One Piece chapter tackled a lot of exciting content, but, on the intensity scale, the chapter was rather calm, which is to be expected, given that fans are now heading towards the early parts of Elbaf.

At the beginning of a new arc, Oda always makes sure that he gives the story time to build up and get more intense, and at the same time, explores the new location that he introduces in his story. Elbaf is going to be similar, especially because the Strawhat Pirates have not yet reached the island that they want to be at. As a result, One Piece chapter 1124 was of a rather slow pace, but at the same time, it stoked the excitement of the fans quite a bit.

The Aftermath Of The Egghead War Was Finally Shown

One Piece chapter 1124 began with the aftermath of the war on Egghead. While this was not a major war in any way where only one party could have won, it was a war nonetheless, and it did see quite a lot of destruction on the island. The entire island was engulfed in flames. Then, fans started seeing more focus being thrown on the results of the World Government waging this massive war on Egghead, and there needed to be results to show for it. In many ways, the Government failed, because their goal was to eradicate Vegapunk. While they did manage to kill Stella, Lilith remained alive, which means that the Government has essentially failed in doing what they wanted to do.

But, there are also silver linings for them. For one, York is now in possession of the Government, working loyally for them and she will likely be making more Motherflame for them. Secondly, the power plant needed to make the Motherflame has remained intact, which means that York can carry out making more of it for the Government, and the Ancient Weapon Uranus is likely going to be powered soon enough. The Government has to be happy with what they have achieved out of this war, but, of course, it wasn’t a perfect scenario for them. Fans got to see Akainu being focused on in this chapter, calling Egghead to see what happened following the blast of Haki.

To his surprise, nobody answered the call, until Kizaru finally stepped in. While Akainu wanted to blast him for his failures, the latter would not have it. Kizaru was seen as emotional for the very first time in One Piece, and it was certainly a shock for the fans as well. The fact that he had to kill his best friend was certainly hard on him, and fans did get to see him cry on multiple occasions secretly throughout the arc. However, at the end of the day, he remained a lapdog of the Government and decided not to act against those at the top. Instead of helping his best friend, he decided to murder him, and is now dealing with the consequences. Kizaru lashed out at Sakazuki, telling him that he was being a brat, and that he should watch his mouth about how he speaks, which, surprisingly, led to Sakazuki apologizing to him.

If you have time to sit there and doubt me, then come over here and see my work for yourself, you ungrateful brat! – Kizaru

Meanwhile, the Strawhat Pirates continued on their journey from Egghead to Elbaf, and the Warland awaited them. Things are going to be very exciting once they step foot on this island, but, in this chapter, everything looked gloomy on the two ships.

Luffy And The Straw Hats Accept Their Failure

Luffy Failed To Save Stella From The World Government

One big event that took place in One Piece chapter 1124 was the Strawhat Pirates essentially accepting their failures. The goal of the Strawhat Pirates is to get Stella out of the island. Luffy had promised him that he would save him, but, at the end of things, he failed.

The only one they managed to save was Lilith, and she certainly is alive, which, for them, is a silver lining, but the others ended up sacrificing themselves one by one, which was certainly not planned. Being a Yonko, letting five people die is something that felt like a failure to him, which is why the atmosphere was quite gloomy.

I couldn’t save the apple-head man, even though I’m a Yonko now. – Luffy

For Luffy, every single friend matters, no matter who it is, and he will go on to fight for them with all his might. If he does fail, he’ll always be brooding by himself. In One Piece chapter 1124, Luffy was seen crying over Vegapunks demise, that is, until Lilith woke up. Lilith was filled in on everything in this chapter, and later, it was made clear to the Strawhat Pirates that they hadn’t failed their mission, because Lilith was still alive, which meant that Vegapunk had survived.

Of course, Stella is dead, but it doesn’t matter because there are more than one body of Vegapunk in the story, and this simply means that the goal of the Straw Hat Pirates is essentially met.

With that, the celebrations finally started in One Piece chapter 1124, as Luffy was unburdened, and a banquet was held. The land of Giants was built up even more, and characters there are looking forward to receiving the Straw Hats too. Nico Robin, in particular, wants to see Saul once again, and it is certainly going to be a very exciting reunion.

A Mysterious Man Awaits In Elbaf In One Piece chapter 1124

While the Straw Hat Pirates held a massive banquet on the ship of the Giants, a mysterious figure awaited their arrival in Elbaf. This figure was covered in a silhouette, and fans don’t know who exactly he was. All they could tell was this person wore a hat on his head, and had a bottle of a drink in his hand. His words were meant for the Strawhats, asking them to come, which means that he is expecting them to arrive there anytime now. Of course, this individual is certainly not Saul, as the silhouette looks to be that of a human instead of a giant. Fans don’t know who this character is, but it could be anyone, starting with Scopper Gaban, or characters such as Yorki.

Another individual who this could be is the Golden Lion Shiki, and the possibilities are, clearly, endless. Fans will need to wait quite a bit to see who this mysterious character is, what role he is going to play in Elbaf, and how things are going to be shaping up in the Elbaf Arc.

Unfortunately, One Piece won’t be getting a chapter next week, because it is time for Oda to take his break. This means the arrival of the Strawhat Pirates on Elbaf will need to wait even more.
