Is Loki’s Legendary Weapon Really Mjolnir? The Mystery Behind the Hammer of Norse Mythology!

One Piece chapter 1130 finally gave fans their first glimpse of Loki, the Accursed Prince of Elbaf.

While he was introduced into the story Whole Cake Island arc, fans only saw his silhouette, which, as expected, looks absolutely nothing like him. Fans got to see their first glimpse of Loki in the Elbaf arc, immediately after the Straw Hat Pirates stepped foot outside the Block City. Loki’s presence was felt by Luffy immediately and, curious as he is, he went to check him out.

Fans got a marvelous double-page spread of Loki tied up in the snowy mountainous region, and while his appearance was certainly mesmerizing, what a lot of the fans failed to notice is the weapon that he carries on his back. This weapon looks quite like the legendary Mjolnir, which, as fans know, is very popular in Norse mythology.

Loki’s Secret Weapon Could Be A Legendary Hammer From Norse Mythology

Loki Has A Legendary Devil Fruit

Loki Could Wield A Legendary Hammer Too

Loki holds tremendous power. There is absolutely no doubting that. In fact, fans found out about Loki’s powers in One Piece chapter 1130 in quite a shocking manner. First off, Luffy felt his presence from inside the Block City. But, immediately after he made it out, he realized that Loki’s presence was getting stronger and he actually managed to give the Yonko tingles. This in itself implies that Loki is super strong. But, if that wasn’t enough, fans got more lore about Loki later on in the chapter, when the Giants spoke of him. According to the Giants, Loki is the shame of Elbaf. Ever since he was little, Loki has been committing one crime after another. This evil individual was eventually sentenced to crucifixion, and he survived that as well. Loki also killed his own father, King Harald, to obtain a legendary Devil Fruit, which he successfully consumed.

Loki killed his own father to obtain that Devil Fruit!

Now, fans know Loki holds tremendous power because of his Devil Fruit, and this was proven by the fact that it took the force of the entirety of Elbaf to restrain him. But, this might not even be Loki’s full strength. As was clear in One Piece chapter 1130, Loki also carries a giant weapon on his back. Clearly, this weapon is not a sword. There is absolutely no hilt for this weapon, which erases a blade from the list of possibilities. It also doesn’t look like an ax, because it is way too thin to actually hold an ax. Furthermore, fans know how Oda draws axes, given how characters such as Luffy, and, of course, among the Giants, individuals such as Brogy, wield them.

Loki’s weapon looks different. In fact, in one of the angles, it is clear that Loki’s weapon has a giant surface that looks like a block. This weapon is most likely a hammer. When it comes to hammers, in Norse mythology, there is certainly a special one that exists and fans know the god of lightning, Thor, to wield it. This hammer is the Mjolnir.

What Is The Mjolnir?

A Legendary Hammer Of Great Power

The Mjolnir is a legendary hammer that is quite known in Norse mythology. This hammer was created to sustain blows from the likes of Thor and not be destroyed by his immense power. This hammer is incredibly durable and can actually channel his own strong abilities immensely well. Of course, there are many variations of the Mjolnir across different pieces of fiction, but in Norse mythology, this weapon did not necessarily do anything special. It was created to beat the Giants by striking their heads, which, interestingly, would make sense here, given that Loki wants to destroy the world, starting with the world of the Giants, Elbaf.

According to him, this is somehow tied to him being the Sun God. In several other variations, the Mjolnir has also had the power to make an individual fly by simply throwing it. In others, the hammer channels lightning powers. Of course, Oda can have this hammer work completely differently, and still be very powerful.

Whether this hammer has lightning powers, or if it holds on to Haki, or if it’s something entirely different remains unknown at this point.

I’m the Sun God who will go on to destroy the world!! – Loki

What fans can say for sure is that an individual such as Loki, who should be comparable to the Yonko in terms of strength, should have an equally capable weapon, and the Mjolnir will certainly be a fitting one for him. Of course, in Norse mythology, this weapon is not wielded by Loki. However, things are different in One Piece. Loki is in no way related to Thor, and at the same time, fans know that Thor doesn’t exist in this world, at least so far. As such, a proper wielder of this weapon would be Loki, especially after the death of King Harald. Fans absolutely cannot wait to see this weapon be revealed more in the story, and hopefully, it will be incredibly exciting if Loki does utilize its powers.

How Strong Will Loki Turn Out to Be?

Loki Should Be Comparable To The Yonko Of One Piece

As things stand, fans know that Loki is monstrously powerful. In fact, a case can be made for Loki to be stronger than the yonko, given that he specifically claims to hold the power to destroy the world. Even the Giants back this up by stating that when Loki is released from his chains, he will destroy the world as they know it. As far as fans know, the only ones that hold power similar to this are the Ancient Weapons and, of course, a user of the Gura Gura no Mi.

Loki must be monstrously powerful in that case and whether his powers are derived from his Devil Fruit, which is said to be legendary in nature, or if they are derived from his weapon, it doesn’t make much of a difference. What fans know is that Loki can destroy the world, and that means he should be a worthy rival for the likes of the Yonko, and potentially even stronger.

Friends absolutely cannot wait to see what Loki brings to the table once he’s released from his chains, and, of course, if he truly does wield the Mjolnir, he will be immensely powerful, to say the least.

Of course, there is absolutely no confirmation of Loki being the wielder of the Mjolnir in One Piece yet, but given that he is the center of attention in the story right now, fans will likely find out in the next two or three chapters, once One Piece does a return from its break. For now, all fans need to do is sit back and wait patiently for Oda to drop One Piece chapter 1131. Hopefully, Loki’s weapons, along with his strength, will be confirmed in this chapter, as Luffy currently stands in front of him and might even engage him in an all-out combat.
