Luffy Will be Too Late to Save Garp: Fan Theory About 3D2Y and Elbaf Timeskip is the Worst Thing That Can Happen in One Piece

Chapter 1132’s cryptic message has been decoded already, leading to a harrowing time skip theory, hinting Luffy’s absence from saving Garp!

Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece continues to elude fans for the past 27 years, where they have grown up reading the alluring tale of Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates getting closer to the most alluring treasure of all that will help him become the next King of the Pirates.

While the plot has definitely kept the readers hooked on the series, the fan theories are something that has added to the fame of the series. With the series being in the final saga, another intriguing theory has been added to the countless theories that flaunt the fans’ creativity.

However, this theory has got the fans divisive because it involves the Straw Hat being a little too late to save the Hero of the Marines. Thus, making him the cause of the death of another dear one after Portgas D. Ace in the Marineford Arc.

Fan Theory Suggests Luffy Being Far Too Late to Save Moneky D. Garp

After two weeks, Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece finally returns with Chapter 1132, as fans can now have a sigh of relief following the mangaka’s health. Since the series is now in the final saga, more and more fan theories have started to circulate around the internet. The most recent one follows Luffy and his crewmates, who continue to explore Elbaf Island.

The recent chapter again featured an old name, Luis Arnot, an old name from the series, who was first mentioned all the way back in Chapter 115. Arnot’s book Brag Men happened to be a collection of journals written by renowned explorers and adventurers. As the title suggests, the journals sound too bizarre to be true.

While everyone forgets about the unseen character and his book, it makes an unforeseen return in Chapter 1132, titled Adventure in Elbaph.

The book comments on the land’s mysterious geography, which ends with a cryptic message that reads the following from the explorer:

However, if there is one message you take away from my account of the gigantic and mystical land of Elbaph, let it be this word of warning, “Do not overstay your welcome here.”

This puzzling statement made a fan (@writingpanini) connect the dots from the Post-Marinedford War Arc, where Luffy sent a cryptic message to his crew, where he struck off “3D” and wrote “2Y.”

This made a fan believe that if the Straw Hats spend 3 days on Elbaf Island, then it will be 2 years, in the OP verse. Thus, making him a little too late to save his grandfather, Monkey D. Garp, after he was captured by Kuzan of the Blackbeard Pirates, which some believe is to be staged.

The decoding of the concealed detail took the community by surprise, as they left their comments on the post that they made on X.

One Piece Fans Were Impressed With the New Fan Theory

Chapter 1132 took the entire fandom by surprise when it featured the cryptic message that had got the community scratching their heads, making them wonder why Arnot urged fellows to not “overstay” on the island.

However, when a fan came up with a convincing explanation that pieced together different ideas that made sense, blowing away everyone’s minds. This made the fans come together and leave comments on the post, where they voiced their opinion on the idea of another potential time skip in the series.

Even though there’s been no confirmation about the integrity of the theory, that might lead to time dilation in the series. However, if this theory happens to be true, like Kin’emon jumping through time or Sanji being a superhuman like his siblings, then the probability of Garp getting saved by Luffy seems grim.
