Y&R: Is Chance’s Shocking Exit Permanent, or Are We in for a Thrilling Comeback Twist?
The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest that even with the most “final” of deaths in daytime drama, characters always return from the dead. With that said, Chance Chancellor’s (Connor Floyd) recent demise really shook fans up. Is he gone for good?
Why Did The Show Kill Off Chance Chancellor?
The Young and the Restless spoilers indicate that fans were shocked during the Monday, July 28, episode when Chance was shot by Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) assistant, Carter (Vincent Stalba), during a dramatic face-off.
Everyone learned that Carter was the one who stabbed Damian Kane (Jermaine Rivers), and in an attempt to stop him from hurting Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), Chance lost his life.
Y&R viewers knew that Connor Floyd had been dropped down to recurring status, and that he has since hopped over to Days of Our Lives playing the Chad DiMera recast.
Although Days fans are aware that it’ll be a hot minute, around spring 2026, until they see Floyd in the role, as the show films so far ahead of schedule. With that said, did the show have to “kill” Chance in such a final way?
Y&R Fan Outrage
Many fans were outraged about the soap killing off Chance. After all, they could’ve found a recast, right? Especially since Chance was a legacy character. Still, as he was shot in cold blood, is there any chance that Chance could return, alive?
Over the years, soap writers have brought back characters that were thought to be long gone.
After all, yes, Chance was shot, but as he’s been a spy in the past, maybe the authorities scooped him up (injured, but alive), claimed he was dead, only to place him on a secret mission they want him for?
Then again, as he’s a Chancellor, maybe someone took him from Cane’s estate, plans to help him recover from his injuries, only to use Chance as ransom to score a huge payout. The possibilities are endless!
