Brooklyn rapper Uncle Murda has stirred up hip-hop conversations by claiming Jay-Z is unlikely to stay silent after Drake took several shots at him on his newly released album ICEMAN.

In a recent interview clip, Uncle Murda broke down Drake’s lyrics, pointing out lines that directly reference Jay-Z’s legacy and status. “I think Jay gon’ respond to Drake,” Murda stated, emphasizing Hov’s competitive drive. He noted that Drake has “passed him” in certain metrics and isn’t being subtle with the disses.

Drake’s ICEMAN, released in mid-May 2026, includes pointed references to Jay-Z, such as “the jig is up” and preferring cash over a hypothetical dinner with OGs. These bars have reignited long-simmering tensions between the two titans, who have traded subtle jabs for years.

Jay-Z has not publicly addressed the latest album, and his last full solo project remains 2017’s 4:44. However, Murda believes the Brooklyn icon’s history of calculated responses makes a reply highly possible.

The hip-hop community is now buzzing with anticipation. Whether Jay-Z chooses to respond through music, a freestyle, or another platform remains to be seen, but Uncle Murda’s take has fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter in this legendary rivalry.
