Zayn Malik shares how his 3-year-old daughter Khai has transformed his life, reawakening his childlike spirit.
Zayn Malik has spoken about how his daughter Khai has changed his life and made him a better person. In a new interview with Harper’s Bazaar India, the singer revealed that Khai, who was born in September 2020, has brought a sense of purpose and joy to his life.
Malik, who has been co-parenting Khai with her mother Gigi Hadid since they broke up in 2021, said that being a father has inspired him to be more patient and has awakened the childlike part of him. “It goes by fast!” he said. “Being a father has only inspired me and made me a better human. My daughter is my whole life and has given me purpose.”
Malik also revealed that Khai is a big fan of his music, and that she constantly asks him if he’s singing when she hears a song. “Is my baba singing?” she asks, which Malik says is just about the cutest thing he’s ever heard.
The singer has been known to be private about his personal life, but he’s been more open about his experiences as a father in recent interviews. In a previous interview with the Call Her Daddy podcast, Malik said that having a daughter has rekindled his own childhood and brought color back into his life.
Malik’s latest album, Room Under the Stairs, was released earlier this year, and he thanked his fans for following his creative process over the years. “My relationship with my fans is ever-changing for the better as is every relationship in my life. I’m growing and learning,” he said. “I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.”
