A’ja Wilson averages 27.0 points per game across 17 games this season for the Las Vegas Aces. In as many games, she leads her team in almost all categories. Wilson leads the team in rebounds (11.0), steals (1.9) and blocks (2.5) next in line Kiah Stokes with 1.3 per game. She also leads her team in FG%, shooting 51.7% from the field.

She is the only player to lead a team in as many categories this season. Although the Aces are not the top team in the league, they are certainly one of them. If Vegas finishes as one of the top two teams in the league, Wilson can certainly have an easy case for her nomination.

It is not just her team that A’ja Wilson leads in multiple categories. The reigning Finals MVP also leads the team in ppg (27.0) and bpg (2.5). This means that Wilson has a legitimate chance to win both Defensive Player of The Year as well as MVP awards. Wilson has already achieved this feat in 2022.

Moreover, Wilson is also second in the league in rebounds per game (11.0). She is only behind Angel Reese, the Chicago Sky rookie who averages 11.8 rpg. Her ppg and rpg aggregate of 38.0 is the highest in the league and well ahead of Napheesa Collier’s 31.0.

#3. Leads the league in player efficiency

Leading the league in multiple categories seems to have become ‘Wilsonesque’ in the WNBA. A’ja Wilson is leading the entire WNBA in efficiency by a large margin. She has an efficiency of 32.8. Napheesa Collier (25.8) is in second place in the league.
