Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man is a neo-Western action film set in a stylized near-future Los Angeles. The story follows two longtime friends: Harley Davidson (Mickey Rourke), a rebellious biker, and the Marlboro Man (Don Johnson), a modern-day cowboy. They reunite to help their friend Jack Daniels save his bar from foreclosure by the Great Trust Bank, which demands $2.5 million to renew the lease.​ To raise the money, Harley and Marlboro plan to rob one of the bank’s armored cars. However, instead of cash, they inadvertently steal a shipment of “Crystal Dream,” a potent and deadly new street drug. This puts them in the crosshairs of the bank’s corrupt CEO, Chance Wilder (Tom Sizemore), and his lethal security chief, Alexander (Daniel Baldwin), who dispatch a team of assassins to recover the drugs and eliminate the thieves.​ As their friends are killed one by one, Harley and Marlboro go on the run, eventually deciding to confront Wilder directly. In a climactic showdown at an airplane graveyard, they defeat Alexander and his men. They then confront Wilder in his office, demanding he renew the bar’s lease. When he refuses, a helicopter pilot they had bribed opens fire on Wilder’s guards. During the ensuing chaos, Wilder insults Marlboro’s deceased father, prompting a fight that ends with Wilder falling to his death.​ In the end, Harley and Marlboro part ways: Marlboro returns to bull riding, and Harley rides off in search of new adventures.
