Mystery Deepens: South Carolina Personal Trainer Elena Moore Vanishes After Leaving Planet Fitness

Lexington, South Carolina — Authorities continue an intensive search for 39-year-old Elena Katherine Moore, a popular personal trainer who disappeared after leaving a Planet Fitness gym on June 11, 2026. Described by friends and colleagues as reliable and outgoing, her sudden vanishing has sparked widespread concern and national attention.
Moore, who works at Wolf’s Fitness Center, signed in at the Planet Fitness location on Whiteford Way around 6:40 p.m. She was last captured on surveillance wearing an olive green zip-up hoodie, black athletic pants, carrying a purse and water bottle. Witnesses and footage indicate she walked toward a wooded area behind the nearby Lowe’s Home Improvement store. Extensive searches, including drones and grid teams, have yielded no clues in the area, which borders residential neighborhoods and even an FBI office.
Her husband, a former deputy now working as a private investigator, reported her missing the following day after no contact. Private investigator Henry Dukes, brought in by concerned friends and family, noted the case remains wide open. Moore had reportedly visited a CVS earlier and was seen in the general area later that evening on additional footage. Police emphasize she had no known vehicle with her at the time and stress that foul play has not been ruled out.

Moore is described as 5’7″ tall, approximately 120 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She is known for her dedication to fitness and helping others. Friends say the disappearance is completely out of character. The Lexington Police Department continues to urge anyone with information to contact Detective Santoro at 803-358-7271

As the search enters its second week, the community rallies with hopes for her safe return. Updates are expected as more surveillance and tips are reviewed.
