Cristiano Ronaldo‘s partner expressed her sheer relief when the football legend made his move to Saudi Arabia, admitting that she had been eager to leave Manchester.
Georgina Rodriguez, aged 30, entered a relationship with Ronaldo back in 2016 after their chance meeting at a Gucci store in Madrid.
During that time, Ronaldo was in the final stages of his remarkable tenure with Real Madrid, which eventually led to his transfer to Juventus in 2018.
The football superstar spent three seasons in Turin before making an emotional return to Manchester United in the summer of 2021.
However, his time back at United turned out to be filled with drama, culminating in the termination of his contract shortly after an explosive interview with Piers Morgan, where he criticized manager Erik ten Hag and the club’s management.
Rodriguez was overjoyed when Ronaldo disclosed his departure from Manchester United.
Ronaldo’s return to United in 2021 lasted only 18 months before he left under challenging circumstances.
In December 2022, the Portuguese icon made a significant move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
Like her partner, Rodriguez couldn’t wait to escape Manchester. In the latest season of her popular Netflix series, ‘I Am Georgina’, she expressed her happiness upon learning of Ronaldo’s new chapter.
‘When Cris told me he was going to play for Al-Nassr, I was so relieved because I really wanted to leave Manchester,’ Rodriguez remarked.
She further added, ‘I knew something big was waiting for us and we were highly motivated. I was very happy to come to Saudi Arabia.’
Nonetheless, the transition for the family to life in Saudi Arabia had its challenges.
‘It all happened so quickly,’ Rodriguez disclosed.
‘At the beginning, I had some ups and downs because we had never lived in a hotel for so long. There were days when I didn’t want anyone to see me, but overall, I was very excited.’
Initially, Ronaldo and his family stayed in the luxurious Kingdom Suite at the Four Seasons hotel in Riyadh.

The couple frequently shares affectionate moments on social media.
Ronaldo has continued to shine on the pitch since his move, scoring at an impressive rate.
The Kingdom Suite occupied two floors at one of the tallest buildings in Saudi Arabia and was just one of 17 rooms used by Ronaldo’s team, which included family, friends, and security personnel.
It is estimated that the hotel expenses for Ronaldo and his close ones exceeded £250,000.
Since relocating to Saudi Arabia in December 2022, Ronaldo has netted an impressive 69 goals in 76 appearances for Al-Nassr across all competitions, contributing to the team winning the 2023 Arab Club Champions Cup.
