Luffy vs. Loki: Can the Straw Hats Handle the Might of Elbaf’s Strongest Giant?

Loki is one of the most intriguing One Piece characters right now, and also one that fans are eagerly awaiting the appearance of in the Elbaf Arc.

Loki is one of the very few characters that fans do know from Elbaf, and the fact that Oda introduced him long before the arc even began always meant that he was going to be very important. Now that Elbaf is well and truly underway, fans finally got their first glimpse of Loki and it is safe to say that whatever expectations the fans had from his reveal were blown completely out of the water.

Oda delivered an absolutely incredible showing of Loki in One Piece chapter 1130 and, at the same time, revealed quite a lot of new information about him.

Loki’s Introduction In One Piece Shocked The Fans

Loki Is Known As The Prince Of Curses

Elbaf Giants Consider Loki To Be The Shame Of The Country

Loki was first introduced in One Piece in the Whole Cake Island Arc. There, it was revealed that Prince Loki of Elbaf was infatuated with Lola, one of Big Mom’s children. Big Mom wanted Lola to marry Loki, and this was specifically because she wanted to secure the support of the Giants of Elbaf. According to her, if Lola had married Loki, then the Elbaf warriors, together with her pirate crew, would have created the strongest force on the planet. She would have been able to destroy Shanks, Whitebeard, and even Kaido in combat. Unfortunately for her, Lola wanted to decide her fate by herself and because of that, she ended up leaving Whole Cake Island.

Big Mom was absolutely infuriated by this decision and decided to pass her twin sister, Chiffon, as Lola. Clearly, the Giants figured this out and Loki did not marry her. Because of that, the relationship between the Giants and the Big Mom Pirates soured even further.

He’s the shame of Elbaf! – Giants on Loki

Other than that, fans did not know much about Loki, that is, until recently in One Piece. With the beginning of the Elbaf Arc, Loki was always going to be focused upon. Quite a lot of the fans believed that the Sun God that was revealed earlier was actually none other than Loki. However, that person turned out to be Road, the navigator of the New Giant Warrior Pirates. While fans were disappointed by Road not being Loki, they didn’t have to wait long as Loki was introduced soon after. Fans absolutely cannot be more fascinated by the person known as the Disgraced Prince of Elbaf.

Loki’s Level Of Strength In Elbaf Gave Luffy Goosebumps

Luffy and The Straw Hats Couldn’t Believe Loki’s Power Level

In One Piece chapter 1130, Loki was first seen being talked about by Gerd and Goldberg. Both of them were engaged in a conversation about the Road. According to them, Road is a creep who they don’t seem particularly fond of. However, Hajrudin still keeps him on the crew. Gerd, in particular, mentioned that Road is even worse than the Disgraced Prince of Elbaf, Loki. This was yet another hint about the Prince of Elbaf who was introduced long ago in Whole Cake Island. At this point, fans knew that Loki would be introduced in the story, sooner rather than later.

When Luffy and the Straw Hat Pirates were traversing a bridge, the former’s body sensed a tingle. According to Luffy, a very powerful presence was nearby, and he couldn’t believe the strength of this person. Zoro wanted to follow Luffy into the forest, but Sanji prevented him from doing so. As was seen in the chapter, it took Luffy no time to get to Loki. Fans were treated to quite a display when Loki was revealed in chains, and when he introduced himself to Luffy.

Do you guys feel it? I’m getting goosebumps all over my body. – Luffy

Loki introduced himself as the Sun God and the one who would destroy the world, and that is certainly quite an introduction. At the same time, it was also revealed to the fans that Loki is directly tied to Ragnarok, which will most likely come in the Elbaf Arc at some point. More than that, Loki’s strength was directly indicated by Oda.

Luffy felt his tremendous presence and insane level of power inside his body and got goosebumps. It was such that Luffy himself was surprised by the strength that he could sense. The fact that he could feel Loki’s power this much essentially meant that Loki is quite easily the strongest Giant in Elbaf right now.

Loki might even be comparable to the Yonko of the One Piece world, and this is further supported by what the Giants mentioned about him. According to them, it took the force of the entirety of Elbaf to chain Loki. The fact that an entire country was needed for this one Giant suggests that his level of strength was absolutely impeccable and that he can definitely be compared to the Yonko, at the very least.

That isn’t all. Fans also know that Loki now wields a legendary Devil Fruit. What exactly the Devil Fruit is, is something that fans do not know right now. Loki murdered his own father, Harald, to gain access to this Devil Fruit. He then consumed this fruit and right now, fans don’t know what abilities this fruit grants. This ability is going to be legendary, no matter which type of fruit it is. Chances are that this is going to be a Zoan ability, given that there are many mythological animals in Elbaf. But, at the same time, it is also possible that this could be a Logia type devil fruit. This is supported by the fact that Hajrudin claimed that a Giant with a Logia would be unstoppable, and perhaps that was sly foreshadowing from Oda pertaining to Loki himself.

Is Loki Yonko Level?

Loki Could Have Strength Greater Than The Yonko

Right now, the extent of Loki’s strength has not been revealed in One Piece. But, what fans can say for sure is that Loki is very powerful. Given that Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji all felt his immense presence and that they needed to take careful notice of it implies that he is, at the very least, close to them in terms of strength. As a matter of fact, the entirety of Elbaf, which is described to be the strongest nation, was required to chain him, and this suggests that he might be, at the very least, on the same level as the Yonko of the One Piece World.

Loki is a phenomenal force and fans will be utterly surprised by the might that he possesses. It shouldn’t be a surprise if he’s stronger than both Dorry and Brogy, both of which carry a bounty of 1.8 billion berries. Loki might be in the Yonko tier, at the very least. In fact, even a Yonko might not be able to sustain an entire country of warring Giants fighting against them, and the fact that that was what it took to capture Loki suggests that he might be even stronger in some ways.

The good thing is that One Pieceis already in the Elbaf Arc, which essentially means that this arc will definitely show fans the full power of Loki. His devil fruit, along with much else, could be revealed to the fans in One Piece chapter 1131, and fans are incredibly excited to see what Loki will have to offer as the series continues.
