COCO 2!!!

Get ready for an enchanting adventure as Miguel and his family face a bewildering phenomenon in “COCO: UN DIA DE LOS LOCOS.” When the afterlife spills into the living world, Miguel, Hector, and their beloved ancestors must embark on a thrilling journey to restore balance. Packed with heartwarming moments and vibrant animation, this sequel promises to capture the same magical spirit that made the first COCO film a beloved classic. Coming to theaters in October 2024.

Disney-Pixar’s “Coco 2” is set to be a heartwarming and visually stunning sequel to the beloved 2017 film, diving deeper into the rich cultural traditions of Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) while exploring new themes of family, legacy, and the power of music. The film will once again follow Miguel Rivera as he embarks on a new adventure that crosses the boundaries of both the living and the dead.

The teaser trailer opens with a serene shot of the Land of the Living, where Miguel (now a teenager) is playing his guitar in the vibrant Plaza, which is bustling with life and music.

“The world of the dead isn’t just a place we visit once. It’s part of who we are,” Miguel says in a voiceover.

Suddenly, the marigold petals on the ofrenda begin to glow, signaling a new connection to the Land of the Dead. Miguel’s guitar starts emitting a strange, glowing light, and a portal to the afterlife opens once again. This time, however, the journey is not one of curiosity but of urgency. The Land of the Dead is facing a new crisis—a fading memory threatens to erase important figures from the afterlife, including some of Miguel’s long-lost ancestors.

The trailer shows stunning, colorful visuals of the Land of the Dead, with its towering, illuminated buildings, festive parades, and lively skeletal characters. Miguel reunites with Héctor, Imelda, and other members of the Rivera family, as well as his beloved dog, Dante, who resumes his role as a loyal guide. The group sets off on a journey through new parts of the afterlife, encountering mythical creatures, ancient spirits, and long-forgotten legends as they work to save their heritage.

Amidst the action and adventure, the trailer teases touching emotional moments. Miguel must grapple with what it means to honor family traditions while also forging his own path. “Sometimes we must look back to move forward,” Héctor tells him, hinting at the deeper themes of the sequel.

As the music swells—featuring a blend of new songs and reprises of the iconic “Remember Me”—the trailer ends with a breathtaking shot of Miguel standing at the edge of a vast, glowing canyon, guitar in hand, as a constellation of marigolds lights up the night sky.
