Khloé Kardashian is opening up about the “morbid” reason she decided to have a second kid.
The Good American founder is an incredibly loving momma to daughter True, 6, and son Tatum, 2. Not to mention an amazing auntie to SO many KarJenner kids, especially Rob’s daughter Dream. But it wasn’t easy welcoming her second child into the world. After her doctors advised her against carrying another baby herself, she decided to move forward with a surrogate — around the same time her baby daddy Tristan Thompson secretly fathered another child… But we won’t get into all that here. So, why did she decide to have another child? Well, her reasoning is quite sad, actually.
In an all-encompassing interview with Bustle published on Tuesday, The Kardashians star got candid about the joy of growing up with siblings Kourtney, Kim, Rob, and later Kendall and Kylie. She told the outlet:
“It’s the best ever. It’s why I wanted True to have a sibling so badly.”
For the highs AND the lows. The 40-year-old continued:
“Not to be morbid, but when my dad passed away, my mom — regardless of how incredible and amazing she is — she couldn’t understand the pain that we felt. And so for True, I was like, ‘I need her to have someone.’ It’s just inevitable that both of her parents at some point will go. And I just need her to have that support system.”
Aw! That’s so sad. Robert Kardashian sadly passed away from esophageal cancer when Khloé was just 19 years old. While her mom Kris Jenner was going through it right alongside her, no one could have truly understood what she was going through like her siblings could.
Let’s hope death is decades and decades away for her, but we definitely understand where she’s coming from. They always say your parents leave your life too soon, your partner enters your life too late, but your siblings are with you for the whole ride. So nice True and Tatum will always have each other.
