Cristiano Ronaldo made the most of the Saudi Pro League’s (SPL) winter break by taking a trip to Lapland with his family.
Ronaldo, 39, has shown no signs of his output slowing down this season, with the Portuguese superstar netting 16 times in 19 games for Al-Nassr.
But it has been a difficult campaign for the Saudi side, who are managed by former AC Milan boss Stefano Pioli. Al-Nassr are fourth in the SPL, already 11 points off leaders Al-Ittihad.
They are currently on a mid-season break and won’t return to action until January 9.
And Ronaldo made sure to make the most of his time off by taking his family on holiday with him to Lapland.
Lapland is Finland’s northernmost region and is known for its ski resorts, the Northern Lights, while it is also widely considered as the official home of Santa Claus.

He tried various activities and was away with his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their kids
However, Ronaldo didn’t join in when they went skiing as footballers tend to be banned from it
The 39-year-old has shared several posts to social media from the trip, including one where he was stripped down to his shorts in the snow, while showing off his impressive physique.
Ronaldo accompanied the photo – which saw him grinning – with the caption: ‘Merry Christmas, everyone.’
Ronaldo was joined in Lapland by his partner Georgina Rodriguez and their children as they made sure to make the most of the time away.
They visited Santa Claus, while they were also spotted doing various activities in the snow, including what looked to be Ronaldo riding on a ski-doo.
However, the Portuguese superstar didn’t take part in one particular activity due to his position as a footballer.
This is because within players’ contracts, they are typically banned from extreme sports such as skiing, for fear of injury issues, with Ronaldo’s family instead trying out the winter sport.

The trip is a stark difference for Ronaldo and his family to their usual life in Riyadh, where temperatures average about 17 degrees celsius in December.
Yet in Lapland, during the winter months, temperatures can range from minus 16 degrees to three degrees, with occasional lows of minus 30 degrees.
Ronaldo is back in action on January 9 when Al-Nassr take on Al-Okhdood in the SPL.
