Tesla has unveiled the 2025 updated version of its Model Y Juniper. The highly anticipated release has debuted quietly on its Chinese consumer site, giving global fans a look at the refreshed EV.

The Model Y receives both a facelift and new tech specs as it leans into the futuristic Cybercab aesthetic. The redesigned “Juniper” is expected to be quieter, quicker and even more smooth than its predecessor, making it a significant upgrade from the original. At a first glance, the exterior sees a noticeable makeover, mainly the redesigned nose that now features split headlights and a full-length wide LED light bar reminiscent of the Cybertruck. The bumper also seems to take design notes from the Model 3 Highland where the slim side intakes are added. The hood-mounted Tesla moniker appears to have been removed, giving it a cleaner aesthetic. As for the back, the full-width darkened light strip is seen and described by Tesla as the first “indirect reflective body panel taillight.” Although Tesla states that the exterior has been “completely redesigned,” the side profile looks pretty much the same as prior Model Ys. The overall length of the car increased by 41 mm and the EV sits on a new set of 20-inch Helix 2.0 wheels. Some markets also receive the aero-friendly 19-inch Crossflow wheels finished in black. At this time, the Model Y Juniper is expected to be available in a lighter and darker shade of blue, “Glacier Blue” and “Deep Blue.”

As far as the interiors go, Tesla continues to maintain its minimalist design throughout. However, the infotainment display has increased in size to 15.4 inches from 15 inches. The rear passengers also have an extra 8-inch touchscreen to go with the new seat design and upholstery that is expected to give riders more comfort and support. The seats are expected to have an added venitlated function.

The tech has been upgraded for a smoother rider. With smarter technology, the Model Y is expected to be quieter due to the new acoustic glass, retuned suspension, noise-optimized tires and further aerodynamic tweaks. There is a revised chassis setup that allows for a more responsive steering and the dashboard, center console and door cards have all been redesigned to feature a new strip of ambient lighting, vegan suede inserts for an added soft touch as well as a new audio system integrated into the display.

The output of the electric motors have been kept under wraps until now but both trims are expected to be slightly quicker than before. The Model Y Juniper is priced at $39,300 USD to start, depending on the market.
