Speculation is growing that Denzel Washington may not be done with Robert McCall just yet. Despite The Equalizer 3 being billed as the final chapter, new reports suggest that Sony Pictures is considering The Equalizer 4, with Washington potentially returning to his signature role as the ruthless vigilante. When The Equalizer 3 hit theaters in 2023, it was widely believed to be McCall’s final mission. Director Antoine Fuqua and Washington himself hinted that this would be the character’s swan song, as the film saw McCall seemingly find peace in Italy. However, with the movie grossing over $180 million worldwide, insiders claim Sony is exploring ways to extend the franchise. “Sony wasn’t planning for a fourth film, but the demand is there. There have been talks about different approaches, including exploring McCall’s past or bringing him back for one final job.”.
