Timothée Chalamet takes on the legendary role of Alexander the Great in an upcoming historical epic directed by Denis Villeneuve. The film, simply titled Alexander: The Great, promises to be a visually stunning and emotionally charged portrayal of one of history’s most enigmatic conquerors. Villeneuve, known for Dune and Blade Runner 2049, aims to bring a grounded yet ambitious narrative to Alexander’s meteoric rise and tragic fall. The film will explore his military genius, his tumultuous personal relationships, and his unyielding ambition to unite the known world. Chalamet will portray Alexander in his late teens through his early 30s, capturing his transformation from a youthful visionary to a complex, battle-worn leader. Joining the cast are Florence Pugh as Hephaestion, Alexander’s closest companion, and Javier Bardem as King Philip II, his formidable father.
