Rihanna’s latest tattoo has some parents feeling inspired and others raising eyebrows in disbelief.
Bang Bang Tattoo, a shop in New York City, posted a series of pictures on Instagram May 7 revealing that the singer recently popped in for some more ink. The post teased the new tattoo and also included snaps of owner and artist Keith “Bang Bang” McCurdy posing with Rihanna over the years beside each of the designs he has etched onto her body. The caption said he has been working with Rihanna, whom he referred to as his “sister,” for 20 years.
Fans wondered in the comments what the Grammy winner chose for her new body art. A day later, the speculation was put to rest as the Bang Bang Tattoo account uploaded a slideshow debuting the design.
The first video in the post showed Rihanna filming herself while lying on a table as Bang Bang worked his magic. The second video featured a close-up of the tattoo, located on the back of her knee, which was a replica of a drawing from Rihanna’s three children that she shares with partner A$AP Rocky: son RZA, born in May 2022, son Riot, born in February 2023 and daughter Rocki, born in September 2025.

The design was a series of multi-colored scribbles layered on top of one other. Rihanna’s tattoo re-created the sketch in black. The shop wrote in the caption, “Family tats @badgalriri Designed by her babies,” and included a red heart.
In another video in the post, Rihanna joked, “The torture I’ve endured in this shop.” One photo also showed the “Love on the Brain” singer proudly showing off the ink while standing in front of a mirror.
Some fans left comments praising the mother of three for the sweet gesture honoring her children.
“Imagine looking back at it when they will be older,” one said. “The cutest mom.”
Another wrote, “My nephew drew one of these on a sticky note before he passed away. I think I’m gonna get a tattoo now.”
Others questioned Rihanna’s decision.
