Prince Harry could reconcile with family if he does ‘one thing’ says former butler

As tensions continue between Prince Harry and the royal family, his former butler has suggested the Duke may have a shot at reconciliation if he does one thing.

A royal expert has suggested Prince Harry could reconcile with his family – but only if he admits he “made a mistake”.

The Duke of Sus𝑠e𝑥 and his wife Meghan Markle famously stepped back from royal life in 2020 to move to the US. There’s since been a “major rift” between them and the rest of the family, particularly his father King Charles, reports the Scottish Daily Express.

The Duke has missed several milestone events amidst his father and the Princes of Wales’ cancer battles, such as their appearance at Trooping the Colour last month. Despite the friction, hope “isn’t completely lost” said the monarch’s former butler.

Grant Harrold believes there’s one thing Harry could do to build some bridges and reunite with his family once and for all.

Speaking to the New York Post, Grant revealed: “The only way I see this happening is a public statement from Harry, where you come out and say that you were in a bad space and that [Spare] was a mistake.”

Yet while the olive branch could signal a huge step towards reclaiming his old life, Grant believes that it’s unlikely that Harry will be willing to bite the bullet and make such a gesture. “I don’t think that’s going to happen,” he admitted.

“Some bad things were said, and some families never patch things up, and that’s how it is forevermore,” he said, adding that Harry “will regret” the things he wrote in his book.

The former butler also went on to add that the Duke, who has been busy focusing on his charity work in recent months, “has got a big heart”, before saying that “a part of him probably wishes things would be different.”

Crucially, Harrold also went on to explain that while Harry may one day be able to reconcile with his father, he doesn’t believe that the Duke and Duchess will ever be able to reconcile with the Prince and Princess of Wales, stating that “too much damage” had been done.

“[Harry] caused damage and broke down trust,” he suggested. “I doubt they’ll ever get back the relationship they had originally.”
