Last week, rap icon Eminem announced that his much-anticipated album The Death of Slim Shade (Coup de Grace) will be released on July 12, 2024. Since then, his fans have been eagerly waiting for more updates.
In the wake of this, on July 6, X user @SyrianAlmond shared several screengrabs from Apple Music, claiming that the app leaked the tracklist during its pre-order process but later had it removed. He captioned his post:
“It seems as though Apple accidentally revealed the tracklist of Eminem’s new album before it got taken away, but these screenshots show the tracklist.”
Later, @SyrianAlmond also put a disclaimer in the comment section of his post and warned his followers and fellow Eminem fans.
“This could very well be fake. I don’t claim that this is any sort of confirmation. I just seen it and posted. Take it with a grain of salt,” he said.
Since this post became viral, social media users have been having diverse reactions. While some consider the accidentally and allegedly released tracklist leak fake, others showed excitement about the features of several notable artists, including 50 Cent and Dr. Dre.
Here are some of the reactions from X:
“If this is real… we got a classic in our hands,” one person wrote.“But initial thought is that this is fake, but not a bad tracklist,” another person wrote.“Dude these features are fire,” a fan wrote.“Bro, if this is accurate, holy sh*t I’m pumped,” another fan wrote.“This album about to be a love letter to the fans,” a netizen wrote.“Who cares fake or not… still building momentum and I’m here for it. Gosh is it the f*cking 12th of July yet?” another netizen asked.
As per @SyrianAlmond’s screenshots, Eminem’s upcoming album’s alleged leaked tracklist contains 19 songs and one music video. Notable artists like Billie Eilish, JID, Skylar Grey, Tech N9ne, J Cole, Black Thought, Ez Mil, Royce da 5’9”, Big Sean, Babytron, Dr. Dre, and 50 Cent were mentioned as collaborators.
So far, Eminem himself hasn’t confirmed or denied the viral alleged tracklist.
Everything you need to know about Eminem’s The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)
On July 2, Eminem dramatically announced the release date of his upcoming album on X with a 58-second horror-themed teaser video. He wrote in the caption:
“OH SH*T!!! THE DEATH OF SLIM SHADY (COUP DE GRACE) 7/12!!!”
The promo showed a woman giving birth at a hospital during a rainy/ stormy night. The newborn initially did not respond; however, when the doctor patted its back a few times, it was heard crying.
Soon, when the baby was handed over to the mother, it opened its jet-black eyes, smiled weirdly, and slithered its tongue. Soon, devil-like horns appeared from both sides of its head, making everyone in the room terrified, as they were heard saying “holy sh*t” while fleeing the scene.
Towards the end of the teaser, the title of Eminem’s 12th studio album appeared along with the date of July 12, 2024. It quickly garnered severe traction online, with fans of the rapper showing excitement and enthusiasm.
For those unaware, Eminem first announced the album during the NFL Draft in April 2024. Since then, he dropped the single Houdini on May 31, which debuted at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
On July 2, the second single, Tobey, featuring Big Sean and Babytron, was also released. Its music video, which was slated to drop on July 5, has been postponed to July 8. The rapper tweeted that the video was “incomplete” and apologized for the delay.
