Prince William sends England players message of support ahead of Euro 2024 final against Spain: ‘One last push!’

Prince William has urged Harry Kane‘s men to ‘go out there and show the world’ as the royal heads to Berlin for the Euros final against Spain.

In a post on X, the Prince of Wales said he is ‘so proud’ of England ahead of the final match.

In the personal post, written by the prince himself and signed of ‘W’, he said: ‘We are so proud of you all England, just one last push to finish the job!

‘Go out there and show the world what you’re made of.

‘We believe. W’

Prince William has been showing his support throughout the tournament, appearing at several of the matches and cheering on the team including at England’s victory against Switzerland last week.

The Prince also met with penalty hero Trent Alexander-Arnold after the match and congratulated him with a hand shake and a slap on the back

William has confirmed he will be in attendance at the final tomorrow in Berlin while the Princess of Wales is tipped to present the trophies on Centre Court.

The Prince of Wales, the president of the FA and a lifelong Aston Villa fan, tweeted: ‘What a beauty, Ollie! Congratulations England! #EURO2024 Finalists. W.’

Prince William’s appearance last week came after he was spotted at England’s group stage game against Denmark on June 20 which ended in a 1-1 draw after an early goal scored by captain Harry Kane.

The Prince was incredibly animated throughout the Euros clash last month, including when he launched out of his seat and cheered after the opener in the 18th minute.

But by the end of the game, William – like most of the nation – had his hands on his face after a far from convincing performance saw England pegged back to a 1-1 draw thanks to a wonder strike from Danish midfielder Morten Hjulmand.

The royal previously described England’s 2-1 extra time win over Slovakia in the last 16 as an ’emotional rollercoaster’ but the Three Lions’ last two matches have arguably been even more tense with a last minute Ollie Watkins winner sending Gareth Southgate’s men through to the final against the Netherlands.

And he’s not the only Royal throwing their support behind the team as they prepare for the final match and hope to be crowned Euro 2024 winners.

King Charles and Queen Camilla congratulated the team for reaching the finals with a heartfelt statement.

The princess, a keen tennis fan, presented the men’s singles trophy at Wimbledon last July

Princess Catherine’s first public appearance since revealing her cancer diagnosis in March was at last month’s Trooping The Colour, alongside her children including daughter Charlotte (pictured)

She joined her husband Prince William and their children Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte, at Buckingham Palace to watch this year’s Trooping The Colour event

His Majesty said: ‘My wife and I join all our family in wishing you the warmest congratulations on reaching the final of the U.E.F.A. European Championship – and in sending our very best wishes for Sunday’s match.

‘If I may encourage you to secure victory before the need for any last minute wonder-goals or another penalties drama, I am sure the stresses on the nation’s collective heart rate and blood pressure would be greatly alleviated! Good luck, England. Charles R.’

The prince has confirmed he will be watching on from the stands in Berlin and will be joined by Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer.

And, while William will be hoping the England men’s team manage to take home the trophy – their first in major tournament victory since the World Cup in 1966 – Kate has confirmed she will be at Wimbledon tomorrow to present the men’s trophy.

Kensington Palace said the Princess of Wales will hand over the prize to either Novak Djokovic or Carlos Alcaraz tomorrow on Centre Court.

However she will not attend today and Wimbledon chairwoman Debbie Jevans will instead present the women’s champion trophy on behalf of Kate to either Jasmine Paolini or Barbora Krejcikova following the women’s singles final.

Contingency plans had been put in place for the Duchess of Gloucester, an Honorary President of the Lawn Tennis Association for 25 years, to step in if the Princess of Wales was unavailable due to her ongoing preventative cancer treatment.

Kate, 42, was last seen in public watching Trooping The Colour last month.

The princess said last month that she hoped to attend the occasional engagement over the summer but urged the public to bear with her as, like many cancer patients, she has ‘good and bad days’.
