Brad Pitt is “getting updates” about son Pax’s recovery from an accident despite being estranged from his adult children, a source tells PEOPLE.
“He hasn’t had any contact with Pax in years, but he still very much cares,” says the source of Pitt, 60, and his relationship with 20-year-old Pax, whom he shares with ex Angelina Jolie.
Pax was hospitalized after an accident in Los Angeles on July 29. He was reportedly riding an electric bike or scooter without a helmet when the collision happened. One eye witness recounted the aftermath and contacting 911, saying, “His mouth was filled with blood. When [he] was trying to speak, I saw a little tiny stream of blood coming out of the mouth.”
