A grieving mother says remains found in south Alabama woods are those of her missing teen son and described the unimaginable conditions of his body.

Markavious “Mark” Rumph, 18, was last seen alive Wednesday, May 6. He was at the Beeline #3 gas station in Eufaula, according to police, and was getting into a black Nissan.

Police on Tuesday said human remains were found Monday night near White Oak Church Road in Barbour County.

The discovery was made by a family-organized search party.

Though police have not positively identified the remains, Yolanda Wynn told television station WRBL that the remains were those of her son.

“I looked for five days for my son, with no help from the Eufaula Police Department,” Wynn told the television station. “Me and my family in the rain on Mother’s Day, I walked through those woods.”

“They basically burned my baby, shot my baby, burned him up and chopped him up,” his father, Mark Rumph said. “I’m dealing with it the best I can right now.”

Police said they responded to the wooded area after receiving information regarding the horrific discovery.
